چکیده
Reclamation of highly degraded mine lands to a sustainable environmental quality has become major policy concern in many countries with long mining tradition. This paper reports the soil status historical site fifteen years after its reclamation, using indicators chemical reactivity, fertility and health, discusses progress effectiveness implemented measures by comparative analysis between pre- post-reclamation conditions. Twenty composite surface samples (0–20 cm depth) were obtained for physical characterization from open pit waste disposal area, stratified random sampling approach. Additionally seven sites selected collect topsoil microbiological testing. Results showed that changed noticeably over study period (2003–2018), overall improvements key properties, such as structural stability, cation exchange capacity, degree base saturation, organic carbon, available phosphorus. Prior was unable support vegetation due hyperacidity coupled elevated levels toxic metals nutrient deficiencies. The combined use sugar beet lime composted biosolids low-cost, locally available, amendment effective neutralizing both active exchangeable acidity, reducing mobility, plant uptake human bioaccessibility trace elements. addition also enhanced fertility, carbon storage, availability microbial biomass (bacteria fungi). Revegetation Pinus pinea Nerium oleander proven be successful strategy create vegetative cover aesthetically pleasant environmentally compatible surrounding undisturbed landscape, although further efforts should made monitor time phytotoxic bioaccessible residual metals, notably Cd, Cu Zn. insights gained this land reclamation experience provide success criteria assisting natural attenuation other abandoned worldwide.

Mine Land Reclamation and Eco-Reconstruction in Shanxi Province I: Mine Land Reclamation Model
Coal resource is the main primary energy in our country, while Shanxi Province is the most important province in resource. Therefore Shanxi is an energy base for our country and has a great significance in energy strategy. However because of the heavy development of the coal resource, the ecological environment is worsening and the farmland is reducing continuously in Shanxi Province. How to re...
متن کاملLand Reclamation Natural Revegetation of 15 Abandoned Mine Land Sites in West Virginia
Fifteen AML sites ranging in age from 13 to 35 yr in Northern West Virginia were selected from three surface-mined coal beds (Pittsburgh, Freeport, and Kittanning) to evaluate plant invasion and establishment on disturbed sites. Three 10 m by 10 m plots were randomly located on each site, and cover, density, and stem diameter of all woody plant species were measured. Herbaceous and plant litter...
متن کاملBiochar for soil remediation and land reclamation
Land reclamation generally relates to the improvement of soils degraded by human activities, for example construction and certain forms of agriculture. Soil remediation refers to the process of removing, neutralizing or reducing the toxicity of certain compounds, often left by human activities such as mining and industry. Each degraded and/or contaminated site is potentially unique in its chara...

متن کاملGreenhouse Gas Emissions after Application of Landfilled Paper Mill Sludge for Land Reclamation of a Nonacidic Mine Tailings Site.
Large areas of mine tailings are reclaimed by applying organic amendments such as paper mill sludge (PMS). Although mining industries can use PMS freshly generated by paper mills, operational constraints on paper industries make temporary landfilling of this material an unavoidable alternative for the paper industries, creating the most prominent PMS source for mining industries. This study aim...
